Twee sjielings en ses pennies
Catherine Snyman (2016)
The book profiles the early life of Cate Potgieter, growing up in poverty-stricken South Africa during World War II. At the age of 17, Cate had to leave school to start a nursing job and help provide for her family of 9 siblings. Cate sent home most of her salary, only keeping two shillings and six pennies for herself to buy stockings. Today Cate is a beloved grandmother of 11 grandchildren and is still living by the same values, spreading love and kindness to those around her.
